We are redesigning an existing 250m² luxury high-rise apartment for a very social and fashion-conscious client in Shanghai. The existing plan of the apartment is congested and compartmentalized, including 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We were asked to re-imagine the space as a luxurious 1 bedroom residence with private gym, spa-like bathrooms, professional kitchen, wine cellar and large entertaining area. We strategically removed walls and consolidated spaces to increase access to daylight and views from all corners of the plan. The material palette consists of timeless luxurious wood and marble meant to withstand the test of time and trends. New wardrobes are rendered in high gloss lacquer to contrast against the raw concrete and brick of the existing apartment’s structure.
