We were short listed to conceive of possibilities for a mixed-use culture and business center adjacent to the new Hangzhou East high-speed rail station. Taking cues from the local textile industry we proposed that the new development should incorporate a fashion design institute with adjacent boutique hotel. The two programs would share facilities in an architectural bridge 12 storeys above a grand public plaza.
The scheme will be part of a larger urban plan that aims to integrate the new train station to a high density business district.
